Peter Martin joined the Governing Body in 2003 and was elected Chairman in 2007. He is married to Rachel and has 3 now grown up children - his youngest daughter Jo is an Old Girl of St Catherine's. Peter is a graduate of Durham University and a qualified accountant. After 2 years as a VSO in Khartoum, Sudan, he spent over 30 years in the international IT industry holding senior management positions in London, New York and Paris. Since ‘retirement’ he has pursued a career in local politics. He is an elected Member of Surrey County, Waverley Borough and Godalming Town Councils. He is a member of the Surrey County Cabinet with the Schools and Learning portfolio and has also served as the Mayor of Godalming.
Recreation: Active in local and national politics, the Church and many musical organisations
