St. Catherine’s was pleased to play host to this January’s registered 11+ candidates at the annual Taster Morning held on the 18th October. The girls were warmly welcomed by Mrs Phillips, the Headmistress, and some of the Sixth Formers and L4 (Y8) pupils then talked about life at St. Catherine’s and some of the activities they had become particularly involved in at a personal level. The girls then went off to enjoy 4 ‘mini’ lessons with a break after the second lesson where they were given the opportunity to ask questions and get to know each other a little more. There were 18 subjects on offer, so hopefully something for everyone.
The Maggot Race
19 girls took up the offer of boarding for one night and so stayed on after lunch to enjoy even more fun activities. According to Mrs Church, Symes Housemistress, they were a very happy bunch and she hopes to welcome some of them back in the summer term for a bonding weekend.

Taster Weekend does not involve any sort of assessment. It is purely intended for the girls themselves to get a flavour of life here at St. Catherine’s. We hope they enjoyed themselves.
