Peckham Seniors' Visit 2005
A group of 45 Senior Citizens visited St Catherine's on Saturday 14 May 2005, reviving the old tradition. After lunch in the dining room they visited the Preparatory School May Fair.
During afternoon tea back in the Senior School the ladies and one gentleman were entertained by Maxine Shen on the piano and Caro Laskaris on the violin. This was much appreciated and the vistors also enjoyed singing along with the Headmistress and Beth McCulloch at the piano.
The Old Girls' Association has supported the Peckham Settlement over a very long period. Recently, the collection from the 2004 Old Girls Day Communion Service ( 91.78) was donated to the Settlement.

Two members of St Catherine's Old Girls' Committee, Beth McCulloch and Jenny Haystead, and the Careers Advisor, Rhiannon Morgan, visited the Settlement in November and were convinced that it is a very worthwhile cause for the school to support.

Rhiannon was keen to establish links so that St Catherine's Sixth Form can have work experience placements at the Settlement. William Thomas MBE, the director, said that they would be happy to take two girls each October. He is also keen to revive the tradition of a group of pensioners visiting St Catherine's School.
Jenny and Beth were pleased to be invited back for a presentation to the current Settlement patron, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, where the children sang songs and played instruments and some of the adults from the community described how the Settlement had helped them.
