The Association held a very successful Reunion Lunch in the Cathedral Room at the Royal Clarence Hotel in Exeter on Monday 28th April. A large number of Association members now live in the West Country and invitations were sent to all those living in Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall.

A party of 29 were expected for lunch and we received messages from a further 20 Old Girls who were disappointed not to be able to attend. As the afternoon went on the conversation and laughter flowed easily as memories came flooding back and noise levels steadily increased! As with other regional events we have held, many of those attending commented that Reunions at school are difficult for them to attend so they had particularly appreciated this opportunity to catch up with old friends and former colleagues to share news and reminiscences.

New contacts were also made between people living in the same area who have arranged to keep in touch and meet up again. Mrs Phillips took questions over coffee and Old Girls and former colleagues were very interested to hear about life at St Catherine’s today. Great enthusiasm was expressed for further events in this region both by those who attended the lunch and those who were unable to join us on this occasion.

The success of our two recent regional reunions has encouraged us to plan further get togethers possibly in the North or North East of England.
