Perth Reunion 2007
On Sunday March 4th Mrs Phillips had a great time catching up with some of the St Catherine’s old girls who are now living in Perth. She was joined by Monique O’Connor (1982 Leaver), Megan Powis (2000), Emma Allin (Couchman, 1970) and Helen Walsh (1988).

Monique is married with 3 children and works from home assessing psychiatric illness for medical insurance. Megan is now working in Conservation. Emma has 2 sons and owns and runs a pet and garden supplies shop with her husband. Helen is a nurse working in emergency.
As so often seems to be the case with St Catherine’s, these members of the Association have links with people currently at the school: Megan Powis is a friend of Jenny Verdon, also an OG of 2000 and now teaching Biology at St Catherine's, Emma Allin’s sister, Debbie Gauvain (Couchman), works in the school office and Helen Walsh was on the England Lacrosse team with Vic Alexander, Head of PE - Juliet Jaggs, former Head of PE, was also on this team.
Carolyn Shannon, (1958 Leaver) was disappointed not to be able to attend the Reunion because of a bad back. However, she did come to the 1950’s Reunion held at school in June 2006 where she caught up with many old friends and met Mrs Phillips and Mrs Dowell. She and Mrs Phillips have had had a number of telephone conversations this week, and Mrs Phillips met Carolyn’s Granddaughter, Ella Wood, at Perth College, where she is a pupil. (Carolyn telephoned Mrs Dowell to tell her that Ella was totally amazed by this meeting - she could not work out how this stranger from England knew her Granny had a bad back!) Carolyn lives on a sheep farm 2 hours drive away from Perth, but we are hoping that she will be able to meet up with the other OG’s when in Perth visiting her daughter.
Melbourne Reunion 2007
Having thoroughly enjoyed the Perth Reunion, Alice Phillips moved on to Melbourne. We are building on our links with St Catherine’s School in Melbourne, and Alice spent a long but very enjoyable day there on March 7th. Three 2006 OG’s happened to be in Melbourne as part of their Gap Year, and Alice was delighted (and most grateful) that they interrupted a stream of amazing activities to join her for the day. Between the four of them, they answered questions about St Catherine’s, Bramley to 10 year olds, and talked to 12 year olds about the possibilities for an exchange between students from the two schools.

In the evening, St Catherine’s Melbourne most generously hosted a Reunion at the school for the Old Girls from St Catherine’s, Bramley. Alice was very pleased to be joined by 8 Old Girls from various eras, plus one former member of staff. Everyone enjoyed hearing about Helen Kings’s new baby - now 11 weeks old. Back at school, Sara Dowell is now supplying them with lists of contact details to allow them all to keep in touch more regularly. Jane Daish emailed Sara to say that she has discovered that her Biology teacher from St Catherine’s, Miss Egglestone, is also now living in Melbourne!

Jane Daish and Julia Rawlinson were very surprised to find that having known each other well at school and then lost touch, they have been living ten minutes apart for a number of years!

Anastasia Ryan left Upper 4, and her sister Hannah Lower 2, in 2005 when their father relocated to Melbourne with his job. Their mother, Pauline, is a former member of staff, and all three came to the Reunoin to see Alice and meet the other OG's. Hannah is the youngest St Catherine's OG to have attended a Reunion!
