Governors' Historic Decision
The Governors have commissioned the building of the new Sports Complex and the shell of the Assembly and Performance Hall. Subject to completing final formalities with the Charities Commission and the bank, building work will start as soon as the end of June. Maximum use will be made of the Summer Holidays for heavy excavation work. The project will be well under way by the start of the Autumn Term and be completed by the Autumn of 2010 at the start of the 125th Anniversary Year. The girls of all ages from 4 to 18 years old will be able to enjoy these outstanding indoor facilities to match their skills outdoors.
The Governors were able to seize the opportunities offered by competitive tenders thanks to the support given to the Development Fund at this early stage across the St Catherine's Association. The decision to build the shell of the Assembly and Performance Hall ensures one continuous construction period, the interior being fitted out with further funding at a later stage. The School is enormously grateful for the support of these donors and their generosity will be acknowledged when the Roll of Donors is published as building comences.

The St Catherine's School Development Fund was launched at Prize Giving 2008 by Mrs Phillips, Headmistress of the Senior School, and Mrs Jefferies, Headmistress of the Prep. School. The fund supports capital developments which can not be financed from school income alone. Click here to view their speech.
