Curriculum Overview
In the second year of Key Stage 2 Lower II build on the basic skills acquired in previous years and develop new abilities.
Children of this age have a natural and growing curiosity about the world around them and this is very often reflected in the way they approach classroom discussions. Emphasis is placed on increasing personal responsibility for work (and possessions) and on encouraging greater independence of thought.
Homework is now a daily activity set for core subjects (English, Maths and Science) as well as History and Geography. Girls are expected to organise both the completion and handing in of work.
The scope of their work increases, particularly in Science and the Humanities where they come across a greater range of concepts and begin to evaluate the reliability of some sources of information.
