Welcome and Ethos
St Catherine's Preparatory School is a happy school with high expectations. We are fortunate to be located in the beautiful village of Bramley, near Guildford. The School is academically selective, providing a range of outstanding opportunities both in and out of the classroom. We encourage a love of learning in an environment where the art of creative thinking is taught, along with self-reliance. Supported by strong Christian values girls acquire self-respect, and show courtesy and consideration for others. The girls are fully prepared to move on to their senior schools, including St Catherine's. Their education is an important partnership between home and school, with shared aims and aspirations.

LIII Evacuation Day
Wow, what an experience! The siren blasted, the noise was deafening so everyone would have heard it during a war. Down to the cellar we marched, everyone screamed because of the pitch black. We imagined how the children would have felt, not knowing whether their families were safe or if they would ever get out of the shelter. So we sang songs and recited poems to take our minds off the dark.
War had ended! Everyone made party hats just using newspaper. Then we skipped down to the hall to play wartime party games: Musical chairs, Musical statues, pass the orange under your chin and balloon races. We drank dandelion & burdock and ginger beer. We ate rock cakes and tried our own, homemade, wartime biscuits in our handmade boxes.
Sadly the day had come to an end and we had all enjoyed every second of our wartime experience!
