NETBALL
On Monday 1st March the U9 netball teams went to Guildford High School to play in A, B, C & D matches. We had a very enjoyable afternoon of netball; the girls played very well and greatly enjoyed the experience of being involved in a match. The B team should be congratulated on winning their game and playing some fast attacking netball.
On Tuesday the U10 and U11 A, B and C teams played matches against Halstead and Rydes Hill. The U11s had a convincing 17-6 win and focussed on not wasting the ball and scoring quickly from each centre pass.
On Thursday 4th March the U11 Team travelled to Brighton to play in the regional rounds of the IAPS netball competition. In the pool rounds we played eight games, winning six, drawing one and losing one. We finished as runners up in our section and then went through to the play offs. Unfortunately we met GHS who beat us 6-2 meaning we could not progress further. The U11 girls should be very proud of their achievements on the netball court. They have worked hard, played with maturity and coped well when under pressure in tough games.

SWIMMING
Congratulations to two of our Prep School swimmers. Firstly to Kate , UII, who swam in the Sussex County Championships last weekend. Kate won gold medals in all the events she competed in and achieved several personal best times. Kate is swimming in further events this weekend and we wish her lots of luck. Secondly, to Katie, LII, who swam in the Surrey County Championships and won the U9 200m butterfly achieving a new club record and winning the event to become county champion.
On Wednesday 3rd March we swam against Halstead in a friendly gala, several of our Mermaids swam in the event and did very well. When the final scores were added up we were approximately 200 points ahead of Halstead.

HOCKEY
On Saturday 27th February the U10 hockey team played in the Danes Hill invitation tournament. We played against eight other schools and our team improved hugely as the morning went on. Attacking play and goal scoring was rewarded in the scoring system and we finished in fourth place behind Downsend, St. George’s and CoLFS. Imogen was awarded an umpire’s award and Natasha was presented with a bookmark for being the most improved player in our team.

Sainsbury’s vouchers
|
|
We have started collecting Sainsbury’s vouchers for their 2010 scheme. We hope to collect a large number in order to buy a selection of play and P.E. equipment. We would like to raise enough to purchase some additional scooters to add to the ones we bought last year. These have proved very popular with our Pre Prep girls and we would like to have six of the same to be used on Sports Day.
