LIII's podcasts
On Friday 11th June, LIII recorded radio plays on ‘technoheroes’ which we had made PowerPoints on with our partners. The technoheroes were heroes/heroines/celebrities since the 1930’s to match our history project of Britain since the 1930’s. The heroes or celebrities were people like: Jamie Oliver, Margaret Thatcher, Enid Blyton and Princess Diana. Mr Chaventre (who is a professional sound recordist and has recorded many famous people including Beyonce!) brought in some professional microphones and we read the interviewing scripts that we had written. Another pair would make sound effects with objects we brought in or borrowed from the music room for example: pots and pans, wind chimes or cymbals. We made theme tunes for our shows on Dance E-jay, a music writing program. They sounded very effective on our CDs and they were great fun.  Many thanks to Mr Chaventre, who helped us out and made it lots of fun.

Last week in LIII we made up our own radio plays in pairs. We had to write about a technohero who is a celebrity or a hero. They had to be born since 1930 so they could link in with our history topic. We had to write scripts thinking about sound effects, some people used drums and coconut halves. Once we had recorded our radio play, which was very scary in case you made a mistake , we had to compose a theme tune for our radio play on a program called “Dance E-jay”. We all had a great time recording.
