"Welcome to the Religious Studies Website. It has to be said that I absolutley love Religion and the challenges that we face as individuals and as a community in a growing complex world. On a personal note I believe that R.S has a number of factors to why it should be within the curriculum as it enhances a pupil’s personal development from childhood to adulthood, generating knowledge of the world around them. In educating a child’s sphere of knowledge in diversity and different perspectives, the pupil to move away from imposed understandings from which they have been raised and look to other interpretations so as the pupil can hold comfortably expressions of knowledge, respect for diversity and interfaith relations. One of the most important aspects of R.S is that a pupil will quench their thirst to answer the most ultimate questions, ‘what is life?’ With their knowledge the decisions that they could have to answer within life to issues such as human rights will be met with great resolve".

''Studying Religion is about developing tolerance, respect and understanding of the faith and way of life of millions of people across the world and as such plays a vital part in working towards a peaceful world. Religious Studies also gives us a unique opportunity within school life to reflect on life's big questions - of faith, purpose and our very existence - and to become thoughtful, spiritual people''.

"I am thrilled to return to teaching after a break to have children, and what better place to be than the young and vibrant Religious Studies Department at St. Catherine's? I believe that it is a real privilege to witness young minds' grappling with some of life's biggest questions, and that this is what makes Religious Studies such a fascinating subject to teach. The girl's at St. Catherine's show a real enthusiasm for debate and a genuine enjoyment of the subject."
