Curriculum - GCSE

As a department we have chosen to follow the AQA syllabus. There are two options available Short Course and Full Course.

The short course is completed over the one year and an exam is taken at the end of Lower 5. By studying Christian Ethics it highlights our roles and responsibilities as Christians. It helps pupils to develop an understanding of how Christian views on what it means to be human and on the importance of commitment and responsibility influence attitudes and personal lifestyle in relation to sexual relationships and the use of drugs.

If you decide to take the Full Course GCSE syllabus over two years, there is an additional module of studying Luke’s Gospel. An amazing eye opener into the world of scripture and how it impacts on our lives today. This links in beautifully with Christian Ethics also.
