60% Coursework (internally assessed, externally moderated)

Over the two year course pupils will explore issues and ideas through the language of drama and the ability to work well within a group is an essential element of this highly practical subject. Assessment is based on both practical and written aspects. Visits to the theatre are integral to the course.

Candidates are required to present practical work for two options which must include both scripted and unscripted work. Options include skills such as: acting, improvisation, costume, stage management.

Two assessments are based on the following three parts:

1 Response to plays and other types of drama
2 Work in progress
3 Final performance (externally moderated)

40% Written Paper (2 hours) (externally marked)

There are two questions to be chosen on response to live productions seen during the course.

They will focus on acting skills, design and audience impact.
