Russell Baker is a house which prides itself on making the most of every girl's capabilities and talents, of which there are a great many. From running to shooting, jumping, singing, acting, swimming, playing, painting, tumbling and many others too numerous to mention. Every RB girl is talented and uniquely special. We celebrate the individuality and diverse talents of every member of the House while recognising that if we work as a team, we will benefit one another and the school.
With our reputation as ‘the House that wins’ to live up to, we encourage participation in every House competition demanding as much effort and energy as possible. Our best achievements usually come when we support each other, whether that be in teams, backstage, in friendship or on the pitch boundary. RB’s house spirit is second to none, and we look out for, and after, one another.
RB girls are, by turns, funny, studious, lively, delightful, charming, intuitive and generally fab; we are fiercely proud of our House and we wouldn’t be in any other!

Mina and Emily wait for their debate to begin

Russell Baker's Public Speaking competition was held on the 5th of November against Aschombe, who were formidable opponents. Russell-Baker were represented by Mina Wenike-Briggs as speaker. The motion was "All school leavers have a right to employment". Emily Wilson acted as chairperson and Louise Mitchell as questionner to the Aschombe speaker.
Mina's speech was thought-provoking and very persuasive.
