Drama
This year the theme is famous Childrens' Authors. Stoner has drawn Micheal Bond, famous for his Paddington Stories, Monsieur Pomplemousse, Olga de Polga, Thursday the Mouse and Parsley the Lion. At the time of writing, the script has still to be written but the Upper Sixth are currently being creative and will return in September with a fabulous play.

Singing
The singing competition was themed around songs of hope and inspiration. Stoner drew “Climb Every Mountain” from the musical ‘Sound of Music’. The House Captains then decided upon the song “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson as the second choice. The House performed both songs brillantly special thanks to Rosie Townshend and Hannah Fisher for their enthusiastic leadership of all the rehearsals as well as the final rendition.

Public Speaking
This Year Senior competition is taking place on the 7th November and the Middle competition on the 12th November both against Ashcombe.
Last year Hannah Fisher, Rosie Townshend and Kristine Erwin represented Stoner in the Public Speaking competition, where they fought hard but lost to the eventual winners, Musgrave. Rosie, however, received the award for the best chair in light of her excellent and smooth running of the proceedings.

Sport
This term the House Netball is taking place throughout the term so play hard. Also on St Catherine’s day the House lacrosse is taking place. Good luck to all!
In the Summer term, the Senior tennis team got Stoner off to a brilliant start. Despite having to forfeit one game, the team won their section. They were then put through to play the winners of the other section, Musgrave. After a rather competitive set of matches Stoner was victorious, winning 2-1 and now hold the trophy until next year. The Seniors had yet more success on the sporting field when it came to the House rounders competition. The team played consistently throughout the term and won all of their matches, going through to play Midleton in the final. This turned out to be a very tense match with some excellent batting and fielding from both sides but Stoner came out victorious, therefore adding another sporting trophy to the cabinet. The Middle school teams played consistently throughout their respective tournaments and all the players are commended for their House spirit and participation.
