PTA Student Project Award(s)
Relevant to expeditions undertaken Post A-Level (U6 girls)
- The PTA currently offers a number of financial awards to girls who wish to undertake worthwhile projects post A-Level. These awards are made available to any project irrespective of geographical location and can be undertaken during the summer holidays immediately following A-Levels or as part of a gap year programme. Any girl in her final year is eligible to apply.
- Financial support may be sought for a wide range of projects including participation in charity work in the UK, targeted work experience to support further education and working on a project in a developing country. The PTA must be satisfied that the project will benefit the community to which it relates.
- Applicants should submit an application form detailing their project, and giving reasons why the PTA might contribute towards their costs, what those costs are and how much you would like the PTA to fund. You should also include details of how you propose to raise the balance of the money required.
Association Travel Bursary: up to £600
Relevant to expeditions undertaken Post A-Level (U6 girls)
- The Association Committee administers and funds a bursary of £600 a year which can be awarded to one girl or shared amongst deserving applicants.
- The Association Committee must be satisfied that the project or expedition is worthwhile and that the applicant is able to raise the balance of the money required. The Expedition can last between 2 and 12 months during the summer holidays after A-Levels or during a gap year.
- Any overseas project that benefits the local community in the destination country will be considered. It is essential that you have parental permission and the funds must be returned if the trip is cancelled for any reason.
- Applicants should submit an application form setting out their plans and giving reasons why the Association Committee might award a Travel Bursary towards their costs.
