Testimonials

At St Catherine’s we pride ourselves on the quality of our service to our guests.  Over the years we have played host to events/guests of all kinds, many of which return year on year.

‘St Catherine’s School is a base for our regional academy. We hire the four grass pitches and classroom space to deliver our girls' talent programme.  The school and staff are extremely friendly and always offer the support that we expect from a venue’.

Martin Cragg – Talent Coordinator, England Lacrosse Association

‘St Catherine's is the perfect place for us to be as a Performing Arts School for children aged 3-21 years old. To be able to offer our students such wonderful opportunities in their outstanding facilities is what Stagecoach Godalming is all about. Their Anniversary Halls has a fabulous auditorium and we feel very supported by Lewis (Technical Director) to be able to provide the full production value to our families. We have also recently expanded in to the Prep School facilities which has fabulous spaces for our Early Years group.  St Catherine's has a wonderful atmosphere’.

Holly King, Principle, Stagecoach Godalming

EYSM (European Youth Summer Music) takes place at St Catherine's each year.  EYSM is an international summer school for orchestral players and singers from the UK, Europe and, more recently, from all over the world.  It chooses St Catherine's because of the remarkable facilities offered. In the Anniversary Halls complex there is a first-class Auditorium where orchestras, ensembles and singers are supported by its state-of-the-art design. There are good-sized breakout rooms within a short distance of the Auditorium for instrumental and vocal rehearsals and a good number of excellent pianos in the Anniversary Halls complex, the Music Centre with its Practice and Recital Rooms, and elsewhere across the campus.

EYSM takes around 120 young people, up to 21 years, from across the world and has a large team of musicians and administrators. Food then, is of course a big issue to all these active people and the St Catherine's menus and standard of meals is greatly enjoyed. As are the facilities we can use in leisure time, enabling us to undertake activities, outdoors and indoors, without needing to move far from the musical centre of the course.

When parents, friends and sponsors like John Lewis and Yamaha arrive for the end of course concerts, it is a great pleasure to be able to welcome them to the Anniversary Halls where there is space to mingle and take refreshments, before they enter the Auditorium to watch and listen in first-class tiered seating. We believe that EYSM provides wonderful musical experiences for young people and this is very much enhanced by the remarkable venue at St Catherine's.

Liz Whitehead – Course Director, European Youth Summer Music (EYSM)

'The Anniversary Halls at St Catherine’s School is our first-choice venue for our Dance Section, Final Concert and parts of the Piano Section. The facilities are very flexible and allow us to manage large or small audiences and performers in comfort. The Auditorium is an intimate setting with a clear view of the stage or concert area for all. Technical equipment and event support are of the highest standard. It is an impressive venue for our Festival and both competitors and audiences have appreciated the high quality surroundings and friendly atmosphere. It is an exceptional place to perform and visit.’
