Extra Curricular Sport:
Sport at St Catherine’s is a major part of our extra-curricular programme, offering girls the chance to have fun, develop new skills, learn the value of teamwork, and compete both individually and as part of a team across a wide range of sports. Our philosophy is Sport for All, we aim to provide opportunities for every girl to take part, and we organise as many matches as possible for all teams ready to play!
We are proud to offer a wide range of recreational and competitive clubs, including Lacrosse, Netball, Gymnastics, Trampolining, Swimming, Athletics, Cross Country, Cricket, Tennis, Squash, and Badminton.
We run up to eight teams in some sports, giving as many girls as possible the chance to represent the school and enjoy being part of a team. Every girl is encouraged to stay active and get involved in a variety of activities, whether for fun, fitness, or competition. Alongside friendly fixtures, St Catherine’s competes at a high level in National competitions, and we are proud of the many girls who have represented their County, Region, and even their Country across a range of sports.
Off-site activities:
In addition to our on-site programmes, St Catherine’s takes part in a variety of team competitions held off-site, including sailing and horse riding.
St Catherine’s regularly fields both teams and individual riders to compete in events organised by the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA). Our girls participate in all major equestrian disciplines, riding their own horses. In recent years, St Catherine’s has consistently qualified for the National Schools’ Championships and the County Championships, reflecting the strength and dedication of our riders. For further information about the Equestrian Team, please contact Mrs Nancy Moore.
